Anatomy of Chinese Characters

Card Design

This project is a type-hunting project. I wandered on the streets with a camera, looking for “delicious” typographic elements to create a card set. In the process,  I collected both photographs and additional field notes, which described the environment where each character was captured.

My concept for the card set is directly influenced by my hunting experience — I imaged myself as a scientist who went outside to hunt some live characters and brought them back to my lab. I analyzed them by dissection, looked into details with magnifiers,  and finally created a neat archive with rich information.
